It started on a whim when Renato Fantinato bought Fazenda Vale da Lua, a 90 hectare farm in the southern state of Mina Greais, in 2006. Four years later, realizing he couldn't handle the farm on his own, Renato was ready to sell until his other two brothers stepped in to help him manage and operate Vale da Lua. At the time, the brothers were not focused on quality, just trying to make a living. However, buyers started giving them feedback on their coffee describing the beans as "little treasures." Now with only two left running the farm, Renato and his brother Luiz, they are inspired and focused on maximizing their coffee quality.
This particular lot is a Yellow Bourbon variety which is known for its desirable sweetness and the pulped natural process accentuates the fruity characteristics and acidity of this coffee.
“We must always have the maximum quality as a focus if we want to explore all the potential our land shows up. Perfection is our goal and we know that with this in mind we have a brilliant future to build in coffee growing." ~ Renato Fantinato
